SARIAYA, QUEZON — As part of the intensive promotional activities of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Negosyo Center—Sariaya, through Business Counselor Shayne B. Nocus, participated in the monthly meeting of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Area 2 and 4 Parent Leaders and Assistant Parent Leaders at Barangay Sampaloc Sto. Cristo, Sariaya, Quezon, on February 7, 2023.
To capacitate the 4Ps beneficiaries, the Sariaya Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) Municipal Links Officers Carla Sevilla and Harlene Ocaña invited DTI to give an orientation on How to Start a Business to prepare the beneficiaries for their eventual exit from the program.
“Kinakailngan makatawid na kayo sa linya ng sobrang kahirapan, upang hindi na kayo makasama sa mga poorest of the poor at ang isang pamamaraaan ay ang pagpasok sa Negosyo upang mapuksa ang kahirapan,” said MSWDO officer Carla Sevilla.
The goal of the orientation was to help the beneficiaries develop and cultivate their entrepreneurial skills so they could start a viable business and not be solely reliant on financial support from the government.
Thirty-one (31) Parent Leaders and fourteen (14) Assistant Parent Leaders, all women, appreciated new learnings about the basic knowledge of entrepreneurship, which any budding entrepreneur can easily relate to. ♦
