SARIAYA, QUEZON —In response to the invitation of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) e-Commerce Division (DTI-ECD), DTI Quezon, through the Negosyo Center–Sariaya, represented by Business Counselor Shayne B. Nocus, and Local Youth Development Office focal person Jayson A. Rivera, Ph.D., participated in the Brown Bag Meeting: Youth for the Development of the E-Commerce Philippines 2023–2025 Roadmap on February 22, 2023, at the Seminar Room C, 2F Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) Building, Pasay City.

Ms. Wea C. Bohol, Officer-in-Charge of DTI-ECD, presented the context and agenda of the 2022 E-Commerce Roadmap Updates for 2023–2025 with the battle cry, “Basta e-Commerce, MADALI” which reminds us of our priorities: Market Access, DigitAlization, and Logistics Integration, because at the very heart of robust e-commerce is a system that is easy, convenient, and fast.

Mr. Dennis V. Mendoza, Assistant Division Chief of the National Youth Commission (NYC), discussed the overview and background of the NYC, followed by its Division Chief, Ms. Baby Bernadette Fernando, who talked about the framework of their development plan that will enable, ensure, and promote the youth’s active, meaningful, and holistic participation in society, which covers the 10 Agenda on Health, Social Inclusion and Equity, Active Citizenship, Education, Peace-building and Security, Environment, Economic Empowerment, Governance, Global Mobility, and Agriculture.

Mr. Romulo S. Romero, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer and Principal Consultant, facilitated the discussion to solicit inputs from e-commerce stakeholders on how to sustain the growth of eCommerce in the country, which concerns mainly the youth, and the participants from different sectors of the government institutions actively participated.
