SARIAYA, QUEZON — The Municipal Health Office of Sariaya, through its Environmental Health and Sanitation Services, led by Sanitation Inspector V, Eriberto Gerardo Gabiola, RN, FSCO, conducted a Basic Food Safety Seminar for Food Handlers at Max’s Restaurant, Barangay Isabang, Tayabas City.

The seminar covered essential topics such as proper hygiene and sanitation, preventing cross-contamination, temperature control, and proper food storage and handling. MSMEs gained valuable knowledge on maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, using food-grade materials in food preparation and storage, and preventing the spread of foodborne illnesses, which can have severe consequences on their businesses and the public health.

Furthermore, the presence of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon, through its Negosyo Center – Sariaya, provided MSMEs on food industry with an opportunity to discover and understand various programs and services that could help them grow their business.

Overall, the event showcased the importance of implementing Food Safety practices to ensure the health and safety of their customers and the success of their business.
