On 30 March 2021, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Quezon in cooperation with Foodpanda conducted a webinar entitled Ride and Rise with E-commerce. This activity aimed to promote a better understanding of the latest digital innovations through an e-commerce platform and to strengthen the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) capacity by exposing them to various digital technologies.

Foodpanda is an online food and grocery delivery platform brand owned by Delivery Hero, which is headquartered in Berlin, Germany, and operates with 20 brands in about 50 countries across four continents. The Foodpanda brand, currently used in Asia, Bulgaria, and Romania, was acquired by Delivery Hero in December 2016.

In Quezon, Foodpanda started its operation last February 2021 with Lucena and Tayabas City as its initial area of coverage. Foodpanda is awaiting to cover all the nearby municipalities within the year.

Ms. Cristy Ronquillo and Mr. Kerwin Tolentino discussed the services and importance of doing business with Foodpanda. They mentioned that their partnership is not limited to the restaurant business but also to other food processors, delicacies, groceries, and other essentials.

Thirty- four (34) MSMEs from various sectors participated in the activity. They aimed to widen their market reach and increase sales through this new platform.♦
