SAN PABLO CITY, LAGUNA – The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) through its Negosyo Center San Pablo City gathered 50 existing and potential micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) via Zoom for a webinar on Marketing Principles and Strategies held on 20 April 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The activity was organized in coordination with Lead with Integrity and Good Governance in Helping Communities for Holistic Transformation) (LIGHT) Microfinance, Inc., a non-stock, non-profit organization that contributes to nation-building through poverty alleviation. The webinar aimed to help MSMEs learn appropriate marketing principles and strategies that can turn prospective customers into actual consumers of their products and/or services.
“Marketing is very important to ensure the growth of a business,” said Rudyard S. Balmedilla, resource speaker. “How you communicate to the target audience in order to create engagement and build trust is the key to success. Business owners should know how to effectively match their product and/or service to its best customer through traditional and/or digital marketing,” he added.
Balmedilla also emphasized the importance of consistency in marketing. “As you maximize tools such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Tiktok, Linked In, etc., you need to be consistent with your content. You have to avoid posting irrelevant information on your online pages in order to make your marketing strategy effective.”
The webinar is part of the SME Roving Academy (SMERA), a continuous learning program led by DTI for the development of MSMEs to become competitive in the domestic and international markets.♦
