On November 22, 2023, the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna), through its Negosyo Center Majayjay, and in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Majayjay, conducted a seminar on social media management and marketing strategies cum consumer education at ABC Hall, Municipal Building, Majayjay, Laguna.

The primary objective of the seminar was to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with knowledge and skills on social media management and marketing strategies. The event also aimed to provide participants with an overview on the importance of social media management in the business landscape. In addition, consumer education was also integrated into the program, focusing on informing the participants about their rights and responsibilities as a consumer.

The program commenced with an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Municipal Mayor Romeo Amorado delivered his welcome remarks emphasizing the importance of digitalization in today’s business industry. It was followed by another message from Municipal Vice Mayor Juan Ariel Argañosa Jr. who elaborated the 4Ps of marketing. Lastly, Municipal Administrator Enrique Vargas gave his special message to the participants and expressed his gratitude to DTI for organizing the event.

Continuing with the program, Ms. Rica Mae E. Garcia, a Business Counselor from Negosyo Center Majayjay, led a discussion on consumer education, specifically addressing consumer rights and responsibilities that should be practiced and exercised by every consumer.

The program proceeded with Ms. Rica Mae G. Ceria, a Business Counselor from Negosyo Center Luisiana, enlightening participants on the importance of social media in today’s business. She provided insights on how to effectively manage social media platforms and enhance marketing strategies. Ceria also shared fundamental tips on using the Canva app to create visually appealing photos for posting.

To end the program, Ms. Maricel Granada, Head of the Business Permit and Licensing Office and also the Tourism Designate Officer, delivered closing remarks to the participants.

Overall, the seminar received positive comments from the participants, and they expressed their satisfaction with the learning activity.
