To provide information to potential youth entrepreneurs and existing MSMEs, Ms. Michelle Ann Lim started with a quote from the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bigcommerce, saying “By 2020, brick and mortar retail space will be little more than showrooms,” emphasizing that during this time of the pandemic, we no longer do much shopping outside, because we can do it even at the comforts of our home, hence the need to do Social Media Marketing.

Afterward, Ms. Lim presented the e-commerce data showing how people behave and shop online. She also gave reasons why businesses must go online such as: establishing your brand online, receiving online reviews, having additional sales channels, building relationship with customers, and being open 24/7. She then gave a step-by-step guide for self-awareness and building a brand online and cited some successful online brands.

As an introduction to Canva, Ms. Lim gave samples on how to design e-commerce websites and the different social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok, and different tools that help automate social media marketing.

As she ended her presentation, Ms. Lim entertained the questions from the participants. The program ended with the awarding of the Certificate of Appreciation to Ms. Lim. The program concluded with closing remarks delivered by Ms. Sharon Fojas-Dioco, Division Chief of DTI-Rizal Business Development Division.
