In observance of the 2021 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) with the theme “WE Make CHANGE Work for Women,” the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon conducted a free webinar entitled “How to Work Smarter, Save Time and Increase Productivity” last 26 March 2021, 1:00-5:00 pm via Zoom teleconferencing. Eighty-five (85) participants composing of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), women entrepreneurs and DTI personnel attended the activity. Audit manager turned international consultant, coach, and speaker, Ms. Wandalyn Tan-Calupig, was the resource speaker for the webinar.

During the webinar, she highlighted the importance of chunking down the goals. She emphasized that breaking it down to baby steps, bit by bit, that huge chunked-up, impossible goal becomes smaller steps, steps that are completely attainable. She reminded everyone to find the small steps that they can take every day to bring that thing into being. She also discussed that clarity is important when it comes to goals. Setting goals that are clear and specific eliminates the confusion that occurs when a goal is set in a more generic manner. She also discussed about the Eisenhower Box that can help people organize, prioritize and decide what needs to be done without overlapping any commitments. She deliberated that there are separate actions based on four possibilities: Urgent and important, Important but not Urgent, Urgent but not important, Neither Urgent nor Important.

After sharing her wisdom about the 25 Powerful Tips to Work Smarter, Save Time, and Increase Productivity, she asked the participants to share their insights and lessons that they learned from the said webinar. Most of the participants realized the importance of maximizing and proper accounting of their time, the significance of having a clear set of goals and vision, the importance of prioritizing their well-being, and the utmost need of surrendering to God always. ♦
