Truenorth Endeavors Handicrafts Store, a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) from Cupang, Muntinlupa owned by Tessa L. Calalang, is one of the newly established businesses that sees great opportunity in starting a business despite community quarantines being implemented last year.

Calalang sought help from DTI – Laguna through Negosyo Center Paete to find woodcarvers who can customize and supply her product – a handcrafted wooden bird which she calls “comfort bird”. Through extensive selection and meetings, Jalikee Artts & Crafts was deemed to be the perfect business match for Calalang. Her initial order comprised of 60 pieces of comfort birds which was then delivered to Muntinlupa. The production only took 45 days to complete her order. The only challenge they faced is not having a face-to-face meeting, that is why from time to time they had to send the progress of the comfort bird with the help from existing social media application.

By December 2021, Calalang will start to launch her small business through online selling, because her physical store is not yet done setting up in Uptown BGC.

More orders and transactions between her and Jalikee Arts & Crafts would materialize soon. “It was a successful business match!” Calalang said.♦
