The DTI Aklan Provincial Office gears up for its 20th Aklan Piña and Fiber Festival to be held at the Trade Hall, Capitol Grounds in Kalibo, Aklan from 9:00am to 8:00pm on April 23 to 28, 2018.

The opening ceremony will be held at 3:00pm on April 23, 2018.

Anchored on the theme, “Innovating in the Digital Age,” the trade fair will feature products from different sectors such as processed food, home style and wearables, bamboo, coconut, cacao, health and wellness, among others.

Moreover, products from different Negosyo Centers in Aklan Province will also be displayed during the fair, together with the products of mentees under the mentorship program, Kapatid Mentor Me, of DTI and Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship.

With at least 101 MSMEs and LGUs participating, this year’s trade event aims to generate P5.78M in sales. Aside from the local consumers here, members of various industries such as the tourism sector and institutional buyers are invited to visit the trade fair.

DTI has also lined-up a series of programs and activities during the duration of the fair, which include a) Seminar on Online Marketing; b) Workshop – Skills Demo on T-Shirt Printing; c) Board of Investments – One Window Network Training Workshop; and d) Business Consultancy. These activities will run in the duration of the fair.

This marketing event is a public-private partnership project of DTI-Aklan, Provincial Government of Aklan, Hugod Aklanon Producers Association Inc., Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority and the Aklan Piña and Indigenous Fibers Manufacturers and Traders Association.

Participating MSMEs with ‘Most Innovative Product’, ‘Best Product Collection’, and ‘Best Booth’ will be given awards during the trade fair. DTI enjoins all Aklanons to visit the fair and avail of the programs and services of the Negosyo Center.♦
