ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN 2019

July

• Ongoing preparation for the Inter-Agency Consultation Meeting on the Switzerland SECO-UNIDO Global Quality Standard Programme (GQSP) that was held on 05 Sep 2019.

September                                                                              

• Organized and participated in the Inter-Agency Consultation Meeting on the Switzerland SECO-UNIDO GQSP proposal. The meeting was organized in preparation for the second video conference with UNIDO which discussed the intention of SECO to jointly develop the GQSP proposal with Swiss Import Promotion Programme (SIPPO).
• Organized and participated in the 2nd Video Conference with UNIDO held on 06 Sep 2019. The Board of Investments discussed their proposal on Capacity Building towards Sustainability Certification of Priority Industries which are tuna and coconut oil.

October – December

• The RGMS participated in the Inter-Agency Meeting on Swiss Import Promotion Programme (SIPPO) and QGSP initiatives on 07 November 2019, wherein updates and next steps for the initiatives were discussed. Prior to it, RGMS invited the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) to join the said meeting. In December, RGMS likewise participated in the consultation meeting between the Board of Investments (BOI), Unlad Saka, and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) where Unlad Saka committed to provide BOI with a list of their partner MSMEs/cooperatives that are engaged in coconut production as possible pilot beneficiaries of the project.
