Chinese cosmetics, personal hygiene, and daily cleaning products manufacturers are keen on putting up production facilities in the country for local and ASEAN markets.

Xu Ning Ning, executive president of the China-ASEAN Business Council, told reporters at the recent business conference that the 40 Chinese business delegation were mostly first time visitors in the Philippines. The delegation was largely composed of China’s largest manufacturers of cosmetics, fragrances and personal products that are interested in investing in the country.

The delegation members also had an audience with the Department of Trade and Industry and the Philippine Export Zone Authority. There were also business matching sessions between the China cosmetics association and the Philippine Chamber of Cosmetics Industry.

“This is the second biggest business delegation we brought to the Philippines after the construction group in August and second largest since President Duterte became president,” said Ning Ning.

Other group members are also engaged in the production of skin care products and oral hygiene products and fragrances.

At least 30 firms are producers of daily chemicals for personal care use, said Ning Ning.
