THE Export Marketing Bureau (EMB) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recently held an info session for interested exporters and participants to discuss the upcoming Outbound Business Mission (OBM) to the Middle East from November 8 to 22.

The session provided an overview of trade opportunities in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, and included a briefing on the do’s and don’ts in doing business, Middle East pricing and labeling requirements and updates on halal regulations. The outbound mission seeks to boost the competitiveness of local companies and develop opportunities in the growing overseas foreign market and strengthen business tie-ups in mainstream halal-driven markets in the Middle East.

The delegation will consist of participants from various sectors, including food, personal care, cosmetics and franchising. Participants will have the opportunity to visit conventions and exhibitions, conduct trade checks and engage in networking sessions with companies and chambers to establish or deepen their presence in the Middle East market.

The first leg of the mission will kick off in Dubai from November 8 to 11, followed by Doha from November 11 to 13; Riyadh from November 13 to 16; Dammam from November 16 to 19, and will finally conclude in Jeddah from November 19 to 22.□
