Canva Philippines’s Events and Community Partnership Lead Tin Atanacio teaches participants in Graphic Design Basics and applying these design principles in their brands/companies during the “Digital Design and Marketing” Information Session on January 30, 2020, at the Department of Trade and Industry International Building, Makati City.

During the session, DTI-Trade Promotions Group (TPG) Undersecretary Abdulgani M. Macatoman encouraged exporters to take advantage of the free information sessions that the DTI-EMB organizes.

“As part of the DTI-TPG, the DTI-EMB is enthusiastic in executing different strategies to help our exporters innovate and be more globally competitive. The PECP is one of EMB’s major programs that will expand the exporters and would-be-exporters’ competitive stance and stakeholders through the information sessions and seminars. Entrepreneurs can capitalize on these free information sessions to further improve their companies and/or products or services,”  Macatoman said.

In the first PECP info session for the year 2020, DTI-EMB’s Export Assistance and Business Matching Division (EABMD) collaborated with Canva Philippines in delivering a program, entitled Digital Design and Marketing.

The DTI-EMB invited Atanacio and Community Team Lead Gladys Lacorte. They discussed the following topics: Graphic Design Basics: Design Principles; Presentations to Impress: Application of Basic Design Concepts; Branding for your Business: Design Principles and How to Strengthen your Brand Style; and Social Media Mastery: Boosting your Social Media Presence through Canva.

The program was specifically geared toward equipping the exporters with core digital design principles, and applied creativity to help them in developing innovative marketing strategies that will better connect them with their customers.

Last December, the 2019 National Export Congress (NEC) carried the theme “Driving Exports Through Digital Transformation” focused on technology and innovation initiatives to grow exports, and promote collaboration among businesses.

In line with this, DTI-EMB Assistant Director Agnes Legaspi noted that the DTI-EMB moves forward by engaging industry experts who can help Filipino entrepreneurs to improve and innovate their products and services in which the exporters could take advantage of the free online tools.
