OLIVIA Technology Group Inc., a Philippine fintech company, participated in the APEC Financial Opportunities Fair for Women-led MSMEs held in Tomsk, Russia on June 14 and 15, 2019.

The company, the lone Philippine representative, was nominated by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Export Marketing Bureau (EMB) based on the qualifications of the organizers.

The APEC event aimed to increase women SME entrepreneurs’ access to finance by developing a strong capacity-building platform providing knowledge, strategies and experiences.

On the first day of the event, the sessions and workshops were focused on government support measures for women-led MSMEs and international grant programs and success stories of companies awarded with grants.

The second day showcased women-led SMEs from the Apec region. Titam Rebueno, Business Development lead for Olivia Technology Group Inc., discussed how Olivia app can help freelancers and micro entrepreneurs manage their finances.

Other presenters were: Online Media and Agentima of Russia, Kiddocare Sdn Bhd of Malaysia, BELX Bio-Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., YC Consultants Ltd. and Bened BioMedical Co. Ltd. of Chinese Taipei, and PT Indo Natura Gemilang Abadi of Indonesia.

The fair also provided networking and knowledge sharing among grant providers and women-led company representatives in the Asia Pacific.

Jocs Pantastico, the founder and CEO of Olivia, said they are glad to be part of APEC’s financing opportunities fair because it is what their company is committed to do—“empowering women across the region to manage their finances.”

“I’m very happy and proud to have been part of this financing opportunities fair in Tomsk. The networking with really awesome women leaders was invaluable. Olivia looks forward to near future cooperation with them and the Asia Pacific. We are very grateful to DTI for supporting us in this event,” Rebueno said.

The event was hosted by Chinese Taipei Small and Medium Enterprises Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

The organizers were SMART Business Trips, Lingvista Translation Agency, Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, and The Sun Yat-Sen Management Education Foundation.
