THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is set to lead the Philippine delegation to the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) from November 5 to 10 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai, China.

CIIE is a platform for international cooperation for all countries to showcase their developments and  achievements, discuss global economic and trade issues and introduce their products and services to China.

The CIIE will focus mainly on the importation of goods and services to China, and there will be no Chinese enterprise that will participate as exhibitors. The section of trade in goods includes six exhibitions areas: High-end intelligent equipment; consumer electronics and appliances; automobiles; apparel, accessories and consumer goods; food and agricultural products; medical equipment and medical care products.

The section of trade in services comprises Tourism Services, Emerging Technologies, Culture and Education, Creative Design and Service Outsourcing. Booth rates are $300 per square meter for raw space and $3,000 per 9 square meters for a standard booth with 20-percent discount for reservation by January 31 (i.e., $ 240 per square meter for raw space and $2,400 per 9 square meters for standard booth). Booking deadline is on June 30.
