Mandaluyong City, Philippines—The 2024 DTI Bagong Pilipinas National Food Fair concluded on a high note, generating PHP 57.83 million in combined cash, booked sales, and pending orders for its 233 participating micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Held at SM Megamall from July 3 to 7, the food fair was a vibrant celebration of Filipino culinary heritage and entrepreneurship that attracted 50,000 enthusiastic visitors. This remarkable turnout highlights the growing national interest in local food products and the thriving MSME sector.
Under the leadership of the Department of Trade and Industry-MSME Development Group (DTI-MDG), the event featured an array of food products from all regions of the Philippines. This culinary showcase included fresh agricultural produce, processed and bottled food, healthy snacks, traditional regional delicacies, and wines and beverages, among others.
“When opportunities like this arise, seize them with confidence. You never know—you could be the next big success story,” said DTI-MDG Undersecretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque as she urged participants to actively explore the business avenues presented before them.
Beyond the lively marketplace, the fair offered a series of engaging activities designed to empower consumers and food entrepreneurs. Renowned chefs shared their culinary expertise in live cooking demonstrations, while industry experts led informative business talks. Musical performances and a magic show also elevated the festive atmosphere throughout the fair.
Organized by the Bureau of Market Development, Promotions, and OTOP (BMDPO) in collaboration with the DTI Regional and Provincial Offices, this year’s National Food Fair
is a momentous occasion celebrating a decade of culinary excellence and MSME empowerment.
“Over the past ten years, this fair has become a premier platform for our MSMEs in the food and beverage industry,” said BMDPO Director Marievic M. Bonoan.
More national trade fairs are in the pipeline for the rest of the year. Aspiring entrepreneurs who wish to participate in the DTI-BMDPO events are encouraged to visit the BDTP local DTI Office or email Director Marievic M. Bonoan at BDTP@dti.gov.ph.
