Mandaluyong City, Philippines—The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) launched the first-ever DTI Beauty Fair, a showcase of the vibrant and flourishing local beauty industry. The event was held from August 28 to September 1 at the SM Mega Fashion Hall, Ground Floor, SM Megamall.

Organized by the DTI’s Bureau of Market Development, Promotions, and OTOP (BMDPO), in coordination with the DTI’s Regional and Provincial Offices, the DTI Beauty Fair featured unique and innovative products of 50 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from across the Philippines.

Attendees also got the opportunity to discover a wide array of locally made beauty products, including skincare, haircare, cosmetics, body care, handcrafted perfumes, and even the essential raw materials used in beauty formulations.

Furthermore, the fair emphasized the importance of self-care by highlighting products made from natural and organic ingredients. Visitors were able to explore beauty products infused with locally sourced and sustainably harvested ingredients such as coconut, tea tree, oatmeal, and papaya extracts. These ingredients underscore the richness of the Philippines’ natural resources and demonstrate the commitment of Filipino MSMEs to sustainable and ethical practices.

The DTI Beauty Fair presented the following events:

  • The Beauty Marketplace: The event highlighted MSMEs and their respective beauty brands in a curated marketplace. Exhibitors had individual booths to display and sell their products, engage with customers, and promote their offerings to potential institutional buyers.
  • Make-up Try-on Lounge: Exhibitors conducted live makeup demonstrations and offer product sampling, allowing visitors to experience the unique qualities and effectiveness of the beauty products firsthand.
  • DTI Beauty Fair Photobooth: To enhance the event experience, a photo booth area with DTI Beauty Fair props was made available. This provided a dedicated space, especially for self-care and beauty enthusiasts, to capture memorable moments.
  • Social Media Marketing: To support MSMEs, the Bureau assisted exhibitors in promoting their products on digital platforms through a coordinated social media campaign. This effort aimed to attract interest from a wider audience, including millennials and the general public.

Moreover, the event functioned as a networking hub for local beauty brands, facilitating connections with potential customers, distributors, and industry peers. This aligned with the DTI’s mission to empower MSMEs by enhancing their market presence and fostering economic growth through improved access to institutional buyers and the mainstream market.

“The DTI Beauty Fair embodies our dedication to fostering growth and development of MSMEs in the beauty industry,” said DTI Acting Secretary Cristina A. Roque.

“We invite everyone to join us in celebrating the innovation and creativity of our local beauty entrepreneurs and to discover the best of what the Philippines has to offer,” the trade chief added,

The DTI Beauty Fair was open to the public with free admission.
