Pasay City, Philippines — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) hosted the Tatak Pinoy Summit at the Sheraton Manila Hotel on December 4. This summit solidified the government’s commitment to propelling the country’s industrial transformation through the Tatak Pinoy initiative.

Themed “Tatak Pinoy Strategy: Catalyzing Industrial Transformation,” the event convened key stakeholders from the government, academe, and development partners to chart a common course for the country’s industrial transformation.

DTI Secretary Cristina A. Roque emphasized the summit’s significance in implementing the Tatak Pinoy Act, a key program under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s administration.

“The Tatak Pinoy Summit is a crucial platform to guide and accelerate the implementation of our industrial transformation agenda as outlined in the Tatak Pinoy Act. It showcases Filipino innovation and provides a space for stakeholders to collaborate and share knowledge. This is how we build a ‘Bagong Pilipinas’— where dynamic and strategic industries thrive domestically and internationally,” DTI Secretary Cristina A. Roque underscored.

The summit fostered dynamic discussions on the progress of the Tatak Pinoy initiative and yielded concrete action plans to amplify its impact. Participants engaged in insightful exchanges on leveraging innovation, expanding market access, and strengthening the Philippine position in global value chains.

The summit also featured insightful discussions, panel sessions, and networking opportunities. These provided valuable insights into the latest trends and best practices in fostering industrial transformation and technological innovation.

Meanwhile, DTI Undersecretary Rafaelita Aldaba stressed the summit’s role in country’s intensified efforts to empower our industries. She highlighted the focus on enabling businesses—particularly micro, small, and medium enterprises—to deliver a broader range of sophisticated products and services, ultimately expanding their market reach and competitiveness.

“This summit will provide valuable insights to further elevate our industrial policy, particularly with the ongoing formulation and implementation of the Tatak Pinoy Strategy. As we continue to consolidate and intensify our efforts towards industrial transformation, the summit is a vital step in realizing our vision for a more prosperous and globally competitive Philippines,” said DTI Undersecretary Aldaba. ♦
