Tuguegarao City, Philippines — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) officially opened the 2024 Visual Arts Fair and Exhibit last 22 November 2024 at SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown.
This fair showcased the heritage, artistry, and local talent of the Cagayan Valley region, and as part of the City’s rich cultural traditions.
In his message, Acting Assistant Regional Director Henry O. Conel, Jr., representing DTI Region 2 Director Ma. Sofia G. Narag, CESO V, emphasized the importance of supporting local artists and their works.
Co-organized by the Cagayan Provincial Office and the Tuguegarao City Government, the fair featured a diverse range of visual artworks. To acknowledge the artists’ exceptional contributions, the organizers presented awards of recognition to the participating artists and designers.
Following the awarding, the ribbon-cutting ceremony officially opened the fair and exhibit. The ceremony was led by representatives from the DTI Region 2 and Tuguegarao City local government, along with honored artists, designers, and other stakeholders.
The 2024 Visual Arts and Exhibit was part of the DTI’s 2024 Lunsod Lunsad program, an initiative aimed at promoting local economic growth and cultural preservation through creative initiatives. Tuguegarao City is one of the 63 local government units across the country that were selected as program beneficiaries. ♦
