The Department of Trade and Industry Foreign Trade Service Corps (DTI-FTSC) actively participated in the Game Development Summit 2025, held from February 4 to 7, 2025, in Boracay, Aklan. The summit gathered professionals from across the game development industry, creating invaluable networking opportunities among developers, publishers, studio owners, and service providers. 

Representing the FTSC at the event was Foreign Trade Service Officer Jeremiah Reyes, who underscored the Corps’ commitment to supporting technological innovation and international collaboration in the gaming sector. The participation of the FTSC alongside the DTI’s Competitiveness and Innovation Group (CIG), and Export Marketing Bureau (EMB), signals a strategic effort to enhance trade partnerships, promote economic growth, and create opportunities for local game developers to enter international markets. 

The Game Development Summit 2025 featured a series of events, including business matchmaking sessions, keynote talks, and panel discussions on industry innovations. Prominent industry leaders also shared insights on the latest trends, offering attendees valuable knowledge and hands-on experiences through interactive workshops. The event also showcased an exhibition space for studios to spotlight their latest products and services, and an Indie Developers Showcase for emerging talent.

Beyond discussions on technology, the summit also emphasized the importance of diversity and inclusion in gaming. Sessions highlighted initiatives supporting women in the game industry, independent game studios, fostering a more inclusive and equitable gaming environment. 

The FTSC’s involvement in the Game Development Summit 2025 underscores its role in advancing global trade relationships and strengthening international cooperation within creative industries. By engaging with key stakeholders and industry leaders, FTSC continues to drive cross-border partnerships that position the Philippines as a significant player in the evolving global gaming market. ♦
