CORE RESPONSIBILITIES OF OSMV
The OSMV is dedicated to establishing and sustaining safety standards across the vaporized nicotine industry by enforcing RA 11900. Its primary roles include implementing vape regulation policies, setting internationally recognized product standards, coordinating cross-agency collaborations, and enforcing compliance to ensure consumer protection. Moreover, the OSMV fortifies its efforts in routine inspections, online and physical retail checks and tracking to monitor adherence to regulation protocols.
Working collaboratively with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Bureau of Customs (BOC), OSMV applies tax compliance rules and anti-smuggling initiatives to reduce the prevalence of illicit vape trade.
