Hong Kong, 24 May 2022 – The Chinese famous hotpot giant Hai Di Lao International Holdings Limited (Hai Di Lao) is finally opening its first outlet in the Philippines in June 2022. It is expected to continuously open new branches within the year and create at least 400 employment opportunities.
As early as the first half of 2020, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Hong Kong (PTIC-HK) assisted Hai Di Lao in their plans to expand their business in the Philippines. Together with PTIC-HK, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Guangzhou (PTIC-Guangzhou) assisted in the sending of the team to open the first branch in the Philippines. The intention of Hai Di Lao is to present a superior dining experience and offer quality food for Filipinos in a reasonable price. In addition, Hai Di Lao intends to fuse the Filipino taste into its menu and integrate Filipino core values in its service.
PTIC-HK together with the Philippine Board of Investments (BOI) conducted an online meeting with officials of Hai Di Lao on 20 April 2022 to discuss the details of their operation in the country. The main participants of the meeting were Vice Consul Commercial of PTIC-HK, Atty. Roberto B. Mabalot, Jr. (second from upper left), BOI International Investments Promotion Service Director, Ms. Lanie O. Dormiendo (upper right), and Operation Manager of Hai Di Lao, Mr. ZENG Caixing (upper left).
