Hong Kong – The Department of Trade and Industry through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center – Hong Kong (PTIC-HK) partnered with the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong (PCGHK) in promoting Philippine beverages during the HKTDC Wine and Spirits Fair 2023 on 3 – 5 November 2023 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.
Five (5) Philippine local brands of beers, wines and snacks including the San Miguel Brewery, the Liwayway Holdings Company Limited (A.K.A Oishi), the Philippine Craft Distillers Inc. (PCDI), the Engkanto Brewery, and the Sagada Cellar Door were featured at the Philippine booth.
This year’s fair themed “Sparkling Business Opportunities for the Wine Industry” presented a wide range of fine beverages from old-world wines of Italy, Germany and France to new-world ones of Australia, Chile, and Mainland China.
The HKTDC’s Deputy Executive Director Sophia Chong officiated the opening ceremony, where she highlighted the fair’s potential in providing good business-matching opportunities for the industry and serving as a gateway to market penetration of wines and brands from around the world.
Foreign buyers and businessmen expressed their interest in the Philippine products featured at the booth. Additionally, visitors admired the wonderful taste of the Filipino food and drinks as well as the unique designs of the bottles used which encapsulated the colorful personality of Filipinos.
Over 500 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions participated and showcased other wine-related products and services, garnering around 7,000 buyers from 49 countries.
