Hong Kong – The Philippine Trade and Investment Center Hong Kong (PTIC-HK) conducted its 8th Trabaho Negosyo Kabuhayan (TNK) webinar in 2021 together with the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong (PCGHK), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Bangko ng Sentral Pilipinas (BSP), Philippine National Bank (PNB) and the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) on 21 November 2021 via Zoom and Facebook Livestream. The webinar discussed the Personal Equity Retirement Account (PERA) of the BSP. There were 85 Overseas Filipino Investors (OFIs) who registered and gained 2,528 views on the simultaneous Facebook livestream.
During the opening remarks, Consul General, Atty. Raly L. Tejada emphasized the importance of having a saving and investment plan and encouraged our OFIs to start their own business with the use of their earnings in the plan that they will get.
Danielle D. Tonel, Acting Group Head of the Capital Markets and Trust Supervision Department of the BSP, introduced the PERA fund of the BSP. Thereafter, Assistant Head of the PERA Technical Working Group of the BSP, Ms. Cheryl Ofracio explained how PERA can benefit OFIs and help them prepare for their retirement in the future.
Afterwards, the representatives of the PNB Ms. Katherine De Guzman, General Manager of PNB Hong Kong branch and Mr. Danilo Salvador, Training & Sales Support Department Head of Trust Banking Group Strategic Support Division of PNB; and Lovella Borja, Trust Sales & Marketing Officers of the LBP and Analiza Gregorio, Senior Management Associate and Trust Sales and Marketing Officer of the LBP, provided the knowledge on their latest PERA Bond Fund that may be availed of by our OFIs and gave a walk-through on how to invest in PERA in their respective platforms.
During the closing remarks, Virsie B. Tamayao, Welfare Attaché of OWWA once again expressed her appreciation to the BSP and two PERA product providers in providing the knowledge to our OFIs.
