Davao City Delegation successfully completed Investment and Tourism Roadshow in Singapore

The City Government of Davao embarked on a 3-day Investment and Tourism Roadshow in Singapore to promote various investment and tourism opportunities in the crown jewel of Southern Philippines.
Known as the safest city in the Philippines, Davao City enjoys continues surge in tourist arrivals after President Rodrigo Duterte, who was its city mayor for about 20 years, was elected as President of the Republic of the Philippines in 2016.
From 1.6 million tourist arrivals in 2016, Davao City welcomed 2 million tourists in 2017 and as more tourists come so as the need for more investments for infrastructure, hospitality, food manufacturing and Halal businesses in the city.
Davao City government conducted a well-attended seminar on “Doing Business in Davao City” at the Singapore Business Federation premises in coordination with PTIC Singapore. As a side activity during the City Government of Davao ‘s Roadshow in Singapore, the delegation had a site visit to Orient Pearl Group (OPG) and met the people behind one of the largest Philippine food importers in Singapore. Through the site visit, the delegation had an overview of Singapore food market, learned the emerging buying trends locally and recognized the value of importers to market Philippine brands in a foreign country.
