The Philippine Accreditation Bureau (PAB) is proud to announce the successful granting of accreditation of the first Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) specifically the Inspection Body based on the ISO/IEC 17020:2012 in Brunei Darussalam. This achievement underscores PAB’s commitment to advancing international standards and fostering regional cooperation in quality assurance and conformity assessment.
The ISO/IEC 17020:2012 standard sets the requirements for the competence of bodies performing inspection and the impartiality and consistency of their inspection activities. Accreditation on this standard is globally recognized and sets a benchmark for organizations that perform inspections, ensuring their adherence to the highest levels of technical competence and integrity.
Seri Damai Services Sdn Bhd has become the first Inspection Body in Brunei to receive accreditation from DTI-PAB under ISO/IEC 17020, where the accreditation is also acknowledged by Pusat Standard dan Akreditasi Brunei Darussalam (PSABD) as the National Accreditation Body of Brunei Darussalam. This accomplishment highlights the organization’s unwavering commitment to excellence in its inspection processes, and in supporting the continuous improvement of quality assurance practices in the region.
Mr. Marlon A. Macadamia and Ms. Samantha Alonzo, from PAB, together with their Technical Assessor Ms. Mina Mercado and Technical Expert Mr. Walter Trajada, led the initial assessment on April 22-26, 2024. The assessment was properly coordinated through the cross-frontier policy set by the Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), with PAB’s assessment being witnessed by Pusat Standard dan Akreditasi Brunei Darussalam (PSABD) under the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Brunei Darussalam. The certificate of accreditation was issued on June 14, 2024, and is valid until June 13, 2029, subject to continuing conformity with the criteria and PAB conditions for accreditation.
The accreditation of Seri Damai Services Sdn Bhd is a testament to the growing recognition of PAB’s accreditation system as a mark of quality and reliability.
