MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA–On 05 March, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., DTI Secretary Fred Pascual, and other Cabinet Secretaries met with representatives from Macquarie Group, a leading financial services company. This high-level meeting emphasized the Philippines' commitment to build robust partnerships with key private companies like Macquarie Group.

During the meeting, Macquarie Group reaffirmed its interest in expanding its renewable energy and digitalization investments, aligned with the country’s priority sectors. Meanwhile, to support the company’s increased presence in the Philippines, the national government actively implements strategic policies creating a conducive business environment that will boost the country’s economic development.

Furthermore, the Board of Investments already granted a green lane certificate for the 1.3 gigawatt floating solar project in Laguna Lake, which Macquarie Group is financing. Through this partnership, the Philippine government advances the country’s goal of becoming a regional hub for smart and sustainable manufacturing and services.



Macquarie Group has established a substantial presence in the Philippines over the past 15 years with over 1,000 employees directly under its Macquarie Offshore Services. Additionally, its Infrastructure and Real Assets arm manages funds that support over 5,000 jobs which demonstrates its commitment to local employment and economic development.
