A student from Bayabas National High School in Cagayan de Oro City won the first prize in the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Misamis Oriental Provincial Consumer Quiz 2024 on October 16, 2024 at the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Gymnasium.

James David M. Galimba bested 151 students from 104 public and private schools across Misamis Oriental.

Neeka Ella Guillero from Gusa Regional Science High School won second while China Sin-Ingan from Gingoog Christian College won third place.

The top three winners will represent Misamis Oriental in the Regional Consumer Quiz on October 22, 2024 at Limketkai Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

The provincial and regional consumer quizzes are among the major activities organized in celebration of Consumer Welfare Month, celebrated every October of the year.

This year’s theme, “Be Smart, Assert Your Consumer Rights!”, focuses on the eight basic consumer rights.♦
