Three e-sports teams from Cagayan de Oro swept the top three prizes during the regionwide Digital Interactive Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Tournament on November 9, 2024 at Robinsons Iligan, Iligan City.

The tournament was organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Lanao del Norte as the final event during the Garbo Iligan, Garbo Lanao del Norte 2024: Creative Festival and Exhibit.

Explicit E-Sports Uprising bested 31 teams and was hailed as champion during the tournament. The team took home P8,500 cash prize, trophy, and medals.

SGD Minerva secured the second place with P6,500 cash prize, trophy, and medals; while Explicit E-Sports was awarded in third place with P5,000 cash prize, trophy, and medals.

The e-sports tournament was part of DTI Lanao del Norte’s initiatives to support the growing creatives industry, specifically the entertainment and media domain.

Through the Garbo Iligan, Garbo Lanao del Norte 2024: Creative Festival and Exhibit, the Department aims to promote the local creative industry in the region; facilitate collaboration between the creatives and investors; and foster entrepreneurship, job creation, and skills development in the community.
