Dackies Foods, a local manufacturer of chicharon and banana chips from Lanao del Norte, achieved a significant milestone with the successful shipment of its first export order to United States on June 26, 2024.

A total of 26,000 packs of the Dackies Foods’ popular food snack was loaded in a 20-footer cargo. This marked the company’s initial entry to the international market.  

Through the assistance of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Lanao del Norte under its programs on export and industry development, the local manufacturer was capacitated to begin operating on an international scale.

Dackies Foods’ export venture and commitment to producing innovative products is expected to generate more sales and employment opportunities in the community, benefiting the coconut-banana intercropping farmers in the municipality of Tubod and other parts of Lanao del Norte.

It is also a significant step in boosting local economic growth by empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to start exporting to showcase local products in the global market. (by Amelyne P. Clamonte)♦
