Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 commends the province of Misamis Oriental and 13 of its municipalities and cities, including Cagayan de Oro City, for having been awarded by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) with Certificates of Commendation for establishing a fully functional electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS) in their respective localities. 

The Awarding of the Certificate of Commendation was held during the Bagong Pilipinas Town Hall Meeting & EBOSS Commendation on August 29, 2024 in Lagonglong, Misamis Oriental. The awarding was headed by ARTA Secretary and Director General Ernesto Perez.

Per Republic Act No. 11032 or the “Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018,” ARTA is mandated to monitor and evaluate the compliance of all covered agencies with the mandates of the law. One of the key provisions of the law is the requirement for cities and municipalities to automate their business permitting and licensing systems or establish an eBOSS within a three-year period from the law’s effective date.

DTI is one of the partner agencies that provided technical assistance to local government units (LGUs) for the establishment of the eBOSS.

The six LGUs commended were Villanueva, Balingoan, Salay, Medina, Sugbongcogon, and Talisayan.

Additionally, seven LGUs that were already commended were once again honored during the event: Cagayan de Oro City, Jasaan, Tagoloan, El Salvador City, Manticao, Alubijid, and Laguindingan.

DTI-10 OIC-Assistant Regional Director Almer Masillones congratulated Misamis Oriental and the recognized LGUs of the province during her message of support.

“This significant milestone is a testament to your commitment to enhancing efficiency, transparency, and service delivery within the community.” OIC-ARD Masillones said.

“Your dedication to adapting innovative solutions and improving local governance is truly commendable. You have set a high standard . . . [by] demonstrating the importance of utilizing technology to better serve the public.”

The LGU of Lagonglong and the Province of Misamis Oriental were also awarded with Plaques of Appreciation for their contributions to the conduct of the province-wide Bagong Pilipinas Town Hall Meeting & EBOSS Commendation Misamis Oriental Cluster and for their commitments in promoting the ease of doing business in their localities and the entire country.

The Bagong Pilipinas Town Hall Meeting & EBOSS Commendation was graced by Misamis Oriental Governor Peter M. Unabia; the mayors and representatives of the recognized LGUs; and partner agencies including the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)-10, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10, and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-10.♦
