NORTHERN MINDANAO — Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 equipped its newly-hired Negosyo Center Business Counselors and technical personnel with a Small Business Counselors Course (SBCC) on June 19-23, 2023 at Mallberry Suites Business Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
The SBCC aims to provide interventions that will contribute to leadership readiness of DTI-10 personnel; discuss the necessary business permits and clearances to be obtained from the local authorities and other government institutions, and the laws and policies affecting MSMEs; give an in-depth overview of the concepts/techniques on marketing, operations, and investments; and upgrade the financial management skills of DTI-10 personnel using the current and accepted financial tools and techniques.
Thirty-nine Negosyo Center Business Counselors and technical staff from DTI-10 regional and provincial offices underwent the five-day SBCC 101: Diagnosing an Enteprise.
The course included 14 modules designed to introduce the different principles and methods used to diagnose the viability, productivity, profitability, and sustainability of an enterprise. It was facilitated by Ms. Mary Jane Tuaras, Ms. Yolanda Alim, and Mr. Joshua Gatchalian of the Association of Development Facilitators and Enterprise Counsellors, Inc. (ADFEC).
In her congratulatory message delivered on behalf of DTI-10 Regional Director Ermedio Abang, DTI Misamis Oriental Provincial Director Almer Masillones expressed that SBCC is just one of the engagements the DTI-10 delivers to enhance and uplift the employees.
“This is one of the stepping stones towards achieving your aspirations as you continue your DTI journey.” PD Masillones said.
A second counselors course, SBCC 104: Operations Management, is scheduled for another batch of participants on September 11-15, 2023.♦
