Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 reminds the public not to engage with fixers claiming to expedite or assist the DTI services.

Fixer refers to any individual who can speed up transaction in exchange for a fee.  They may or may not be officially involved in the operation of a government agency but can have access to people working within.

DTI does not make any additional charges beyond the official transaction fees. Hence, the Department urges the public to exercise caution against individuals seeking extra payments.

Aside from the campaign against fixers, DTI has additionally shifted to digital system for its processes to minimize the involvement of intermediaries.

Individuals can now apply or renew their business name online at www.bnrs.dti.gov.ph; pay virtually through GCash, PayMaya, debit/credit cards, and LANDBANK Link.Biz; and immediately download the Certificate of Registration.

Other services offered online include the application of barangay micro business enterprise (BMBE) at www.bmbe.dti.gov.ph, consumer complaints by e-mailing the official e-mail of the concerned DTI office, and loan applications of the Small Business Corporation at www.brs.sbcorp.ph.

Those who are unfamiliar with the digital platforms can seek assistance from the Department’s authorized personnel at the nearest DTI or Negosyo Center office.

DTI-10 OIC-Regional Director Ruel Paclipan said that DTI Region 10 remains committed in strictly adhering to its policies and regulations.

“DTI maintains its standard of integrity.” Paclipan said. “We do not accept additional payments.”

DTI urges customers to report any fixers or instances of unauthorized transactions to the nearest DTI office. ♦
