SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City – Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Lanao del Norte highlights the artistic excellence of Iligan City by showcasing breathtaking performances of two of Iligan City’s most renowned cultural groups during the Fiesta Haraya: Northern Mindanao Day in the national Fiesta Haraya 2024 on December 1, 2024 at SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

The Integrated Performing Arts Guild (IPAG) delivered a dynamic performance that celebrated the rich traditions of Mindanao through a fusion of music, dance, and theatrical storytelling.

IPAG is recognized as the country’s most traveled repertory company.

Meanwhile, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) Octava Choral Society captivated audiences with their masterful renditions of classical and contemporary pieces, showcasing the rich musical heritage not only of Iligan City but of the entire country.

The Fiesta Haraya: Northern Mindanao Day highlighted the unique cultural treasures of Northern Mindanao, with DTI Lanao del Norte at the forefront of promoting the region’s creative industries.

During her opening message, DTI Lanao del Norte Provincial Director Jane Marie Tabucan expressed her excitement in bringing Iligan City’s vibrant artistry to the national stage.

“IPAG and Octava’s performances truly showcased the richness of our culture and the talent that our region has to offer.” shared Jane Marie L. Tabucan said.

The Fiesta Haraya 2024 was held from November 30 to December 4, 2024. It is part of DTI’s flagship initiative, the Malikhaing Pinoy Program, that celebrates the diverse and dynamic culture of the Philippines through various regional showcases, exhibitions, and performances.

It was organized alongside the DTI-Bagong Pilipinas Christmas Village Trade Fairs that featured and array of Philippine-made holiday decor, artisanal crafts, textiles, and festive goods in country. (by Reewen Reige B. Ortega)
