DTI Region 10 OIC-Assistant Regional Director Almer Masillones gives her message of support to the launching of the Tatak Pinoy Program: Bamboo and Homestyle Innovation Showcase on November 4, 2024 at Robinsons Iligan, Iligan City.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Lanao del Norte highlights opportunities of engineered bamboo in the creative and manufacturing sectors during the Tatak Pinoy Program: Bamboo and Homestyle Innovation Showcase on November 4, 2024 at Robinsons Iligan, Iligan City.

The event is organized under DTI’s Malikhaing Pinoy Program that intends to improve the economic and employment contribution of the creative industries to the national economy.

In addition, the Malikhaing Pinoy is implemented to support the Tatak Pinoy Act (TPA).

TPA is a legislative framework that empowers Philippine industries to produce high-value and sophisticated goods and services in order to become domestically and globally competitive. It aims for industries to embrace innovation and overcome modern challenges.

Launched as the first Tatak Pinoy project in Region 10, the Tatak Pinoy Program: Bamboo and Homestyle Innovation Showcase serves as a platform to promote the integration of the creative design industry and construction industry.

This is by incorporating locally crafted furnishing and accenting materials for homes and commercial-building constructions, supporting business operations of creative design-based enterprises.

The event also included insights from experts from the bamboo industry, specifically the engineered bamboo, on how the materials can be used in various applications in the construction industry, trend design updates, and partnerships between interrelated industries.

DTI Region 10 OIC-Assistant Regional Director Almer Masillones expressed the Department’s support in the “transformative event that opens collaboration between the creative design industry and construction industry.”

Aside from Malikhaing Pinoy, OIC-ARD Masillones additionally mentioned other DTI programs that focused on industry cluster enhancements and access to market.

“Through the support provided for both design and construction sectors, we aim to empower individuals and MSMEs to become significant contributors to our economy.” OIC-ARD Masillones said.

The Tatak Pinoy Program: Bamboo and Homestyle Innovation Showcase was attended by local producers, architects, civil engineers, interior designers, MSMEs, students, and other relevant agencies and key stakeholders.

The product exhibit and market matching opportunities will run until November 9, 2024 in Robinsons Iligan, Iligan City. ♦
