Cagayan de Oro City – Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Misamis Oriental culminates the month-long celebration of Consumer Welfare Month 2024 with a Consumer Welfare Desk Forum and Workshop on October 29, 2024 at the DTI Region 10 Conference Room, Cagayan de Oro City.

The Consumer Welfare Desk Forum and Workshop aims to fully empower the self-policing mechanism of business establishments. It additionally emphasizes the importance of upholding consumer rights and the promotion of consumer welfare.

Sixty participants from 52 business establishments in Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental attended the forum and workshop.

The forum focused on the briefing for Fair Trade Laws.

Meanwhile, the participants joined the Consumer Welfare Desk workshop to practice on how business establishments handle customer complaints.

The Consumer Welfare Month is celebrated annually every October to increase awareness and disseminate information on consumer rights and responsibilities.

This year’s theme is “Be Smart, Assert Your Consumer Rights!”
