Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Misamis Oriental, in partnership with the CDO-Misamis Oriental Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council, raked in P1.75 million in sales during its MSME ONE Expo in Ayala Malls Centrio, Cagayan de Oro City on July 5-7, 2024.
The amount generated represented sales for cash, booked, and under negotiation.
The three-day expo was participated by 49 exhibitors. The participating micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental were assisted by DTI’s programs such as Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME), Enhanced Business Learning Session (EBLS), Modularized Business Learning Session (MBLS), and Rural Agro-enterprise Partnership for Inclusive Development and Growth (RAPID) Project.
This year’s theme, “Breaking Down Borders and Expanding Reach . . . from MisOr to the World,” focused on logistics and e-commerce. The trade fair additionally featured expert-led learning sessions on logistics, supply chain management, digital marketing, and e-commerce strategies.
DTI Secretary Alfredo Pascual, through a video message, extended his congratulations to the organizers and participants and emphasized the importance of logistics and e-commerce for the local businesses.
“Undeniably, logistics and e-commerce have been game changers in the growth and expansion of our MSMEs.” Secretary Pascual said.
“As part of our vision of Angat Negosyo, we, at the Department of Trade and Industry, remain at the forefront of pursuing digital transformation of MSMEs. We introduce digital technologies to improve their competitiveness and scalability.”
DTI-10 OIC-Assistant Regional Director Almer Masillones additionally affirmed DTI’s support to the development of MSMEs through collaborative efforts such as the conduct of the expo.
“We aim to create more high-quality jobs by building a robust domestic market and enabling the local businesses to become globally competitive.” OIC-ARD Masillones said.
