An outdoor scene showing several people, who appear to be of Southeast Asian descent based on visual cues, at a market or promotional event. A woman wearing a green patterned top and a black face mask is in the foreground, holding a plastic bag and looking at items on a table. The table is filled with various packaged goods, including food items and beverages. A man in a blue shirt is standing behind the table, possibly organizing or assisting with the display. A young boy is seated at the table, looking down. A sign in the background indicates hours of operation and contact numbers, suggesting this is a sales event. A logo for 'dti' is visible in the lower right corner, indicating a connection to the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry. The overall setting appears to be a busy, outdoor market or promotional event, potentially the 'Diskwento Caravan' mentioned in the caption. The presence of numerous packaged goods suggests a focus on retail or consumer products.

Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines—The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) generated a total of PHP 600,741.05 in sales and served 4,047 customers during its Diskwento Caravan Women’s Month Edition on March 19 to 21.

Organized by the DTI Misamis Oriental, the three-day caravan brought together 23 manufacturers and retailers from Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental to offer basic necessities and prime commodities at discounted prices.

The caravan further served as a key channel for micro, small, and medium enterprise manufacturers producing essential goods to expand their market reach.

DTI Misamis Oriental Officer-in-Charge Provincial Director Jesusa M. Abear emphasized the role of the Diskwento Caravan in providing budget-friendly basic goods for the customers as she outlined the rationale of the event.

“Ang Diskwento Caravan is a flagship program of DTI in support sa atong consumers (The Diskwento Caravan is a flagship program of DTI in support of our consumers),” said Provincial Director Abear.

“Pinaagi sa Price Act, wherein gahatag og financial relief (Through the Price Act, wherein we provide financial relief),” she added.

In celebration of Women’s Month this March, the Diskwento Caravan was organized in partnership with the City Government of Cagayan de Oro’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO), and the City Gender and Development Office (CGDO). ♦
