Two homegrown businesses were recognized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bukidnon for their exceptional achievements and ongoing efforts to grow and develop during the Bukidnon Kapatid Mentor Micro-Enterprise (KMME) Alumni Homecoming in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon on July 12, 2024.

Mr. Francois Cabiladas of Café sa Bukid was awarded as the Most Improved Mentee among over 200 alumni in Bukidnon. The award highlighted the significant progress and digital transformation of Café sa Bukid over the years.

In his Facebook post, Mr. Cabiladas expressed his joy and stated that the award is “a testament of our resilience amidst various business challenges and our keen sense for innovation and change.”

Meanwhile, Pizzakid, a local pizza producer based in Manolo Fortich, won the Most Innovative Product award for its peach-mango-flavored pizza. The innovative product features a golden crust topped with melted mozzarella, a tangy peach-mango sauce, and fresh ingredients. It was selected as the most innovative among nearly 100 product types showcased at the event.

The KMME Homecoming aspires to become an annual event organized in line with the celebration of the National MSME Week.

It aims to gather KMME alumni in Bukidnon to learn, network, and discover new marketing and financing opportunities; provide an avenue for alumni to showcase their products through a mini exhibit; and monitor the business improvement plan (BIP) of mentee-graduates and identity other areas of intervention.
