The Bukidnon Bagwis awardees during the DTI-10 Bagwis Awarding Ceremony held at Chali Beach & Resort, Cagayan de Oro City on October 9, 2024.

Cagayan de Oro City – Ten businesses from Bukidnon were recognized for their outstanding commitment to consumer welfare and responsible business practices at the recent Regional Bagwis Awarding Ceremony.

The event, held on October 9, 2024 at Chali Beach & Resort, is part of the Consumer Welfare Month celebration.

The regional awarding was organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Consumer Protection Division (CPD) in Region 10.

The Bagwis Award is a prestigious recognition given to businesses that prioritize consumer rights and offer exceptional value. It has three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

To qualify for the Bronze Award, businesses must adhere to fair trade laws and maintain a dedicated consumer welfare desk or equivalent office.

The Silver Award recognizes businesses that have achieved Bronze level standards and demonstrate a commitment to social responsibility.

The Gold Seal is awarded to those that meet Silver Award criteria and have implemented a robust quality management system.

Among the 35 awardees in Northern Mindanao, Bukidnon businesses proudly claimed ten honors. The recipients include:

  • Silver Bagwis Seal:  Dions Hardware & Construction Supplies (Don Carlos sur, Don Carlos, Bukidnon and MCA Hardware & Construction Supply (Fortich St., Malaybalay City)
  • Bronze Bagwis Seal: Philippine Seven Corporation/ 7-Eleven (Don Carlos Sur, Don Carlos, Bukidnon), Philippine Seven Corporation/ 7-Eleven (Sayre Highway, Don Carlos, Bukidnon), Philippine Seven Corporation/ 7-Eleven (Purok-8, Poblacion, Valencia Branch), BB Food Choice Consumer Goods Retailing/ 7-Eleven (South Poblacion, Maramag, Bukidnon), G Tower Department Store (Poblacion, Pangantucan, Bukidnon), Bricolage Philippines, Inc. /MR. DIY (Don Carlos Sur Branch, Don Carlos, Bukidnon), Bricolage Philippines, Inc. /MR. DIY (Barangay 9 Branch, Quezon, Bukidnon) ,  and Bricolage Philippines, Inc. /MR. DIY (Quezon Branch, Quezon, Bukidnon).

The DTI Bagwis Award Program covers business establishments under the following categories: Supermarkets, Department Stores, Appliance Centers and the DTI Accredited Service & Repair Shops.
