The Department of Trade and Industry – Competitiveness Bureau (DTI-CB) conducted a virtual orientation via MS Teams last 17 May 2021 about the Domestic Bidders (DoBid) Program among DTI-Region 2 representatives especially those belonging to the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC).
CB Director Lilian Salonga opened the orientation recognizing the DTI-Region 2 officials of their proactive role to provide continuous assistance to the local industries during this pandemic.
DoBid Program Officer Ms. Cindy Falcutila also discussed the legal basis, evaluation procedures, goals, and concerns of the program among the 40 participants who attended the virtual orientation.
The DTI-CB Team also welcomed questions raised by the participants which included certification and legal concerns as well as possible ways DTI officers can promote and integrate the certificate in their current operations. Based on the DTI Department Administrative Order (DAO) 19-01, goods which are locally-grown, produced, and/or manufactured qualify for the certification. The DTI-CB Team also advised the participants that including the DoBid Certificate among other supporting documents during their bidding may help promote the program.
Towards the end of the session, the participants shared that they will support and help promote the certification program among their constituents.
The orientation was done in line with the agency’s efforts to support the local industries in their region .♦
