Batanes, Philippines — The MSMEs Trade Fair, held from 18-30 June 2024, and the Agro Trade Fair, which opened on 26 June 2024, with 88 exhibitors from across Batanes’ six municipalities achieved record-breaking sales of Php 7,558,096.70, marking the highest in the history of the Batanes Provincial Trade Fair. The annual trade fair is a regular component of the Batanes Founding Anniversary celebration.
This year’s fair showcased the #GawangIvatanTatakBatanes products and agricultural produce from all municipalities: Basco, Mahatao, Ivana, Uyugan, Sabtang, and Itbayat. The diverse array of food and non-food products highlighted the rich cultural heritage and innovative spirit of the Ivatan people.
Additionally, the Agro Trade Fair, held at the Old Tennis Court, featured booths from various National Government Agencies, academic institutions, non-government organizations, and Batanes Yaru. These booths displayed products aimed at supporting local communities, further emphasizing the collaborative effort to promote sustainable development in the province. The featured nightly entertainment organized by different groups including Provincial Cultural and Heritage Council, LGBTQIA+, and many more as well as fireworks display.
DTI R2 Batanes, in collaboration with Batanes State College and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), proudly presented the #GawangIvatanTatakBatanes products, highlighting the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the Ivatan people. These products, which have received substantial assistance in product development, market access, and FDA-LTO certification, exemplify the region’s commitment to quality and excellence.
