Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya —  The Department of Trade and Industry Region 2 – Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office, in partnership with the Provincial Local Government through the Nueva Vizcaya Watershed Management Committee – Operations and Coordination Unit (NVWMC-OCU) conducted an onsite Technical Consultation/Training on Bamboo Industry Development on 26 June 2024 at Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

The activity aimed to support the promotion of the bamboo industry in the province, advocate climate change mitigation initiatives, increase livelihood opportunities, and develop community-based bamboo industries with sustainable raw materials.

Forester Henry P. Patricio, Chief of the NVWMC-OCU, provided the technical consultation for the established bamboo nursery under the Shared Service Facility Project of the agency with LGU Bayombong as the cooperator. For. Patricio highlighted some important tips and strategies for ensuring the quality of bamboo being propagated in the facility.

This activity helped the cooperator gain additional knowledge on operating the facility and strengthened the convergence efforts to promote bamboo development activities.
