CAUAYAN CITY – A vibrant celebration of creativity and culture swept through the streets of Cauayan City as it hosted its first-ever Creatives Night, marking a significant milestone in the city’s cultural landscape. The event, held in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry Isabela Provincial Office, showcased the burgeoning creative industry of Cauayan City and laid the foundation for the proposed Cauayan City Heritage Museum.

The initiative, part of DTI’s Lunsod Lunsad Program, saw the City Government of Cauayan being honored with a grant aimed at fostering the growth of the local creative sector. Mayor Hon. Caesar “Jaycee” S. Dy Jr., in his opening remarks, expressed the city’s unwavering commitment to nurturing local talents and fostering an environment conducive to creativity.

The evening was a kaleidoscope of artistic expressions, featuring a diverse array of performances, including modern and ethnic dances, soul-stirring singing performances, captivating spoken word poetry, and acoustic jamming sessions. The streets came alive with a massive street chalk art event, transforming the area in front of Cauayan City Hall into a vibrant canvas of colors and imagination.

Local tattoo artists showcased their craft alongside micro, small, and medium enterprises, offering a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Cauayan City’s local products and artisanal creations.

Joining Mayor Dy in expressing their support for the city’s creative endeavors was DTI Region 2 Regional Director Leah Pulido Ocampo, who hailed Cauayan City as a beacon of innovation and creativity in the North. She reaffirmed DTI’s commitment to bolstering the creative industry not only in Cauayan City but throughout the entire Cagayan Valley region.

The event also saw the presence of esteemed guests, including Department of Tourism Regional Director Dr. Troy Alexander Miano, DTI Isabela OIC-Provincial Director Ramil Garcia, and Mr. Winnie Pua, the generous donor of the proposed Cauayan City Heritage Museum building. Their presence underscored the collective enthusiasm for Cauayan City’s burgeoning creative scene and the significance of preserving its rich cultural heritage.
