In a resounding display of commitment to fostering local businesses and promoting regional trade, several Assistant Secretaries from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) graced the trade show of the 17th Padday na Lima Regional Trade Fair held at Festival Mall, Alabang, Muntinlupa City, on 9 August 2023.
Assistant Secretary Jean Pacheco of Digital Philippines and Ecommerce, Assistant Secretary Glen Peñaranda of the Foreign Trade Service Corps and OIC of the Trade Promotion Group, Assistant Secretary Dominic R. Tolentino Jr. and Assistant Secretary Leonila T. Baluyut of the Regional Operations Group, individually toured the bustling stalls that displayed an impressive assortment of products ranging from intricately handwoven textiles and traditional crafts to innovative technology-driven solutions.
The assistant secretaries were visibly impressed by the quality and variety of goods on display, reflecting the rich cultural heritage and entrepreneurial spirit of the region.
The fair also served as a platform for the assistant secretaries to engage with the DTI R2’s Padday na Lima Technical Working Group, led by Regional Director Leah Pulido Ocampo, and the exhibitors, who were composed of a diverse array of artisans, entrepreneurs, and manufacturers showcasing their products and contributing to the vibrant tapestry of the local economy.
They gained insights into the challenges faced by these stakeholders and discussed potential avenues for growth.
As the fair continued to captivate visitors and foster connections, the assistant secretaries’ presence served as a beacon of hope for local businesses, signaling a bright future filled with opportunities for growth and prosperity.
