TUAO, CAGAYAN — The Department of Trade and Industry Cagayan Provincial Office, in partnership with the Department of Agrarian Reform Batanes-Cagayan Provincial Office, recently organized a series of training sessions focused on marketing and developing an entrepreneurial mindset on March 12, 14, and 19, 2024, in Barangays Ubong and Bantay, Solana, and Brgy. Mambacag, Tuao, Cagayan.
Three key Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) – Pinoy Bagong Pag-Asa Marketing Cooperative in Tuao, Solana West Farmers Cooperative, and Bantay Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Solana – benefited from the training. The goal was to equip members of these cooperatives with essential business skills to enhance their market presence and sales.
Mr. Andre M. Abique, DTI-CARP, served as the resource speaker during the sessions. He emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in driving national development and shared practical marketing strategies, both traditional and modern.
This initiative is part of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) support service, showcasing the collaboration between DAR and DTI to provide comprehensive assistance to agrarian reform communities and ARBOs. The training covered topics such as entrepreneurial mindset, marketing, and product development, aiming for sustainable growth within these communities.
Ms. Novelita Edraira and Ms. Marvi Turingan from the DAR Batanes-Cagayan Provincial Office facilitated the training alongside Mr. Abique, contributing to its success. These training sessions reflect the commitment of DTI-CARP and DAR to empowering local communities, offering promising opportunities for agrarian reform beneficiaries in the entrepreneurial landscape.
