Delivery of SSF Equipment
DTI Isabela conducted three Shared Service Facility (SSF) related activities in January 2019.  The first of these is the delivery of machinery and equipment for three approved 2018 SSF Projects – the 30 million Rattan Industry Development Project of the Provincial Government of Isabela on January 11, the 3 million Dairy Processing Center Project of Isabela State University (ISU) Roxas Campus on January 17, and the 3 million Bamboo Industry Development Project of the Isabela State University (ISU) Cauayan Campus on 29 January.

Monitoring and Evaluation of SSF Projects
On 24-25 January,  DTI conducted an intensive monitoring and evaluation of Shared Service Facility (SSF) Projects. The SSF Projects monitoring team composed of  SSF Technical Staffs from DTI Isabela, Lyka Angela Cazar, Jerwin Domingom, Billy Joe Concepcion, and Alexa Nica Mercurio who were accompanied by Trade and Industry Development Specialist (TIDS) Carlita M. Natividad from the Regional Office.

The monitoring team visited a total of 17 SSF Projects in Isabela for two days. These are the Alicia Government Employees Cooperatives in Alicia National High School; Sto. Domingo Rice Coffee Processing, Alicia; Pottery Makers, San Isidro; Banana Processing of Morado Auto-Savings Group, Ilagan City; Woodworking & Lumber Dryer of Golden Ace Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Ilagan City; Mushroom Processing, Cauayan City; Sewing Industry of Isabela Green Ladies Association (IGLO), Cauayan City; Diocesan Alay Kapwa Livelihood Program, Ilagan City; Social Apostolate Commission Diocese, Ilagan City; Meat Processing Facility of San Francisco Kababaihan Auto Savings Group, Ilagan City; Chichacorn Facility of Cabisera 18 Farmers Credit Cooperative, Ilagan City; Angadanan Bamboo Growers and Processors Association, Angadanan; Cacao Processing ISU Echague; Bamboo Handicraft of Association of Bayabo Young Entrepreneurs, Delfin Albano; Karigo Corn Husk Fashion and Accessories Association, Quirino; Handloom weaving and Sewing Center of Santos Women Weavers Association, Quezon; and the Fruit Wine Processing of Quezon Rural Improvement Club, Quezon.

Showcasing SSF Products

The SSF Special Setting during the Bambanti Festival at the Isabela Capitol Grounds showcased the different products of SSF Cooperators from the Province of Isabela.

Products of SSF Cooperators were showcased in a special setting at the Provincial Capitol grounds during the annual Bambanti (Scarecrow) Festival, the Isabela Province’s celebration of its economic, social, political and cultural life, history and heritage.  The six-day festival held from 21-26 January not only featured the indigenous products of Isabela but also included hyped up merry-making extravaganza of entertaining programs and competitions in street dancing, cooking, and pageantry.

Some of the products displayed include the “inabel” or loom woven cloth of the Santos Weavers Association of the Municipality of Quezon; Corn Husk bags and accessories made by Karigo Corn Husk Weavers of the Municipality of Quirino; Bamboo home decors made by the Quirino Youth in Action also of the Municipality of Quirino and from the Kawayan Negosyo of the Municipality of Angadanan; Dairy products from the San Agustin Dairy Cooperative from the Municipality of San Agustin and various food products and rice cakes from the Cabisera 18 Farmers Cooperative from Ilagan City and the Cabatuan Kankanen Women Workers Association of the Municipality of Cabatuan.♦
