The Cagayan League of Local Environment and Natural Resources Officers, Inc. (CLLENRO) convened its Regular Meeting on 05 April 2024 at the Amulung Municipal Hall, Amulung, Cagayan, where discussions centered around the developing bamboo industry and strategies to fortify environmental stewardship.

In conjunction with this gathering, the Department of Trade and Industry R2 Cagayan Provincial Office, in collaboration with CLLENRO, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), conducted a comprehensive Cagayan Bamboo Industry Action Planning.

The action planning served as a platform for stakeholders to discuss bamboo development programs while reinforcing adherence to environmental and natural resources laws. Key agenda items included updates on ongoing projects, programs, and activities spearheaded by partnering agencies and LGUs to strengthen the bamboo sector, encompassing bamboo inventory, bamboo ordinance formulation, benchmarking missions, and crafting of a comprehensive bamboo action plan.

STIDS Maricris Galinggana, Provincial Focal Person for Bamboo Industry, led the presentations on the above-mentioned agenda and facilitated the crafting of actionable plans aimed at harnessing the economic potential of bamboo while safeguarding the integrity of Cagayan’s environment and natural resources.

Present in the activity were Hon. Mayor Elpidio Rendon of LGU Amulung; PD Henry O. Conel, Jr. and CTIDS Cynthia C. Talattad of DTI R2 Cagayan; Municipal Administrator EnP. Irma Maguigad Aguiling of LGU Amulung; Ms. Margie Calata of PENRO-Cagayan; and EnP. Alex Sibbaluca, President of CLLENRO, alongside Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officers (MENROs) and dedicated staff from partnering agencies; showcasing a collective commitment to advancing sustainable development initiatives.
