The 18th Padday na Lima Regional Trade Fair (RTF) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2 once again in the metro, bringing the rich culture, craftsmanship, and flavors of Cagayan Valley. Happening from 10-16 September 2024, the fair underscores the region’s commitment to promoting local industries and supporting MSMEs.
The Padday na Lima Regional Trade Fair, one of the biggest and most significant marketing platforms in Cagayan Valley, is expected to attract local MSMEs, farmers, institutional buyers, and media professionals. With this year’s theme, “Unveiling the Richness of Cagayan Valley’s Lands and Seas: A Fusion of Beauty and Bounty,” as the driving force, the fair will feature artisanal crafts, agricultural produce, and innovations that reflect the richness and diversity of the region’s lands and seas.
In her opening remarks, DTI Region 2 RD Ma. Sofia G. Narag, CESO V highlighted how this year’s theme, “A Fusion of Beauty and Bounty,” captured the event’s purpose of showcasing the region’s wealth in both natural resources and the talents of its people. “Cagayan Valley is more than just a land of stunning landscapes; it’s a vibrant hub brimming with diverse products crafted by our talented MSMEs. We have raised the bar for craftsmanship by showcasing unique products and services infused with our rich cultural heritage and creative design flair.” RD Narag shared. “This event will unlock fruitful opportunities for our MSMEs and farmers, helping them to thrive in a competitive market”. RD Narag added.
Adding a layer of inspiration, Sec. Ma. Cristina Aldeguer-Roque, Acting Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry through RD Narag, shared an uplifting and congratulatory message with the attendees. She commended the organizers, participants, and MSMEs for their unwavering dedication and hard work, which have led to the successful launch of this year’s trade fair, highlighting that the 6-day event is a testament to the incredible talent and perseverance of the people of Cagayan Valley.
The event’s highlight was marked by a Ceremonial Opening led by key officials: Ms. Denise Layagan, VP and Corporate Marketing Head of Filinvest; Yvette Dizon – Deputy General Manager, Festival Mall; ASec. Domingo R. Tolentino, JR, DTI SCO; ASec. Grace F. Baluyan, DTI ROG; DTI R2 Regional Director Ma. Sofia G. Narag; DOT R2 Regional Director Troy Alexander G. Miano and DTI R2 ARD Henry O. Conel, Jr. marking the beginning of a weeklong celebration of Cagayan Valley’s rich heritage and innovative spirit.
